Persevere – Life during coronavirus – Stay mindful & Develop with reflection

STEPS:
1. Understand
2. Prepare
3. Engage
4. Persevere

A. STAY MINDFUL & DEVELOP WITH REFLECTION

This brief exercise takes only one minute to complete! It can help us each day to keep our perspective by cultivating gratitude, setting intentions, priming our brain with affirmations and finally, supporting growth through reflection. In the long-term it can help re-calibrate our mind, enhance our self-efficacy and enrich our life.

The secret (as with everything) is to be consistent and answer the questions below regularly – ideally every day. Of course, it’s okay to miss a day or two and we should not beat ourselves up about it, but we should aim to answer them on more days than we don’t.

Find yourself a little notebook and answer the following questions each day before you get out of bed:

I am grateful for…
1. For example, “my amazing friends.”
2.
3.

What would make today great?
1. For example, “Going to bed before 10pm.”
2.
3.

Daily affirmations. I am..
For example, “I am resilient and resourceful, and I can find solutions to challenges.”

And answer these questions at night before you go to sleep:

Three amazing things that happened today.
1. For example, “My partner made me breakfast.”
2.
3.

How could I have made today even better?
For example, “By waking up before my children.”
